Description
Bordet–Gengou Agar Base is a culture-medium base for isolating Bordetella pertussis and other Bordetella species.
The prepared base is supplemented with blood and the specified Bordetella selective supplement. Clinical material is inoculated onto the completed medium and incubated at 36 ± 1°C, with Bordetella pertussis examined over approximately three to five days.
The medium is intended for conventional culture and recognition of presumptive Bordetella colonies. The PDF does not state a numbered formal method reference.
