Description

Brilliant Green Bile Broth 2% is a selective confirmation medium for coliform bacteria in water, food, dairy and related samples.

Ox bile and brilliant green inhibit many non-coliform organisms. Lactose-fermenting coliforms produce growth and gas collected in a Durham tube.

Presumptive cultures or sample dilutions are inoculated into the broth and incubated according to APHA, ISO 4831 or ISO 4832. Elevated-temperature incubation may be used to indicate Escherichia coli.
