Description
Aeromonas Agar Base is a selective culture medium for detecting, isolating and presumptively identifying Aeromonas species in food, water and environmental samples.
When prepared with ampicillin, the medium limits competing flora. Samples may be inoculated by spread plating or membrane filtration, and presumptive colonies are described as dark green and opaque with a darker centre.
The medium is used for samples including water, meat, poultry, fish, seafood, raw foods and raw milk, followed by confirmation of presumptive colonies.
