Description
Legionella BCYE Agar Base is a charcoal yeast-extract base for isolation and cultivation of Legionella species.
Activated charcoal absorbs toxic compounds, yeast extract supplies nutrients and the completed medium is enriched with the BCYE growth supplement. Selective supplements may be added when background flora must be restricted.
Clinical or environmental material is inoculated and incubated under the conditions specified in the PDF. Presumptive colonies are confirmed by comparison with cysteine-deficient medium according to ISO 11731:2017.
