Description
Trichomonas Broth is a basal medium for isolating Trichomonas species from urethral and vaginal swabs and urine.
The enriched formulation contains peptones, yeast extract, maltose, cysteine and ascorbic acid and is completed with inactivated horse serum. Chloramphenicol limits bacterial contamination.
The inoculated broth is incubated at 36 ± 1°C for three to five days and examined microscopically at intervals for motile Trichomonas.
