Description
MRS-IM Agar with Glucose is a selective medium for isolating and enumerating probiotic lactic acid bacteria in fermented milk products.
The nutrient-rich MRS formulation supports lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, while dicloxacillin supplement restricts competing organisms. Glucose supplies the principal fermentable carbohydrate.
Samples and dilutions are inoculated by the pour-plate procedure described in the PDF and incubated at 36 ± 1°C for approximately three days under conditions appropriate to the target organisms.
