Description
Malt Extract Broth is an acidic liquid medium for cultivating yeasts and moulds.
Malt extract provides carbohydrates and growth factors required by fungi, while the low pH reduces growth of many bacterial contaminants.
The broth is inoculated with the sample or culture and incubated according to the conditions stated in the PDF. Turbidity or subsequent subculture demonstrates fungal growth.
