Description
Milk Plate Count Agar is a standard medium for total viable counting of microorganisms in milk and dairy products.
Tryptone and yeast extract supply nutrients, glucose supplies energy and skim milk supports recovery of dairy-associated organisms.
Sample dilutions are inoculated by pour or spread plating and incubated according to the selected APHA, IDF or ISO procedure. Colonies on countable plates are reported as colony-forming units.
