Description
Maximum Recovery Diluent is an isotonic peptone-salt diluent for preparing initial suspensions and decimal dilutions.
The low peptone concentration preserves microbial viability without encouraging substantial multiplication, while sodium chloride protects cells from osmotic shock.
Samples are homogenised or serially diluted in the prepared solution and inoculated onto the required enumeration media within the holding period stated by the applicable ISO 6887 procedure.
