Description
Lauryl Tryptose Broth is a selective presumptive medium for detecting coliform bacteria in water and wastewater.
Sodium lauryl sulfate inhibits much of the non-coliform flora, while lactose fermentation produces gas in Durham tubes and turbidity in the broth.
The formulation is connected to APHA Standard Methods and ISO 11866-2. Positive presumptive cultures are taken forward to the appropriate confirmation stage.
