Description
Tryptone Glucose Extract Agar is a general cultivation and enumeration medium for microorganisms in water and dairy products.
Beef extract and tryptone supply nitrogen, carbon, sulfur and growth factors, while glucose provides energy and agar creates the counting surface.
Sample dilutions are inoculated into plates using the procedure described in the PDF, combined with molten cooled medium and incubated before colonies are counted.
