Description
Czapek Dox Agar is a defined medium for cultivating fungi and bacteria capable of using inorganic nitrogen.
Sucrose is the sole carbon source and sodium nitrate is the sole nitrogen source. The formulation supports characteristic growth of Aspergillus, Penicillium, Paecilomyces and related fungi.
Samples are spread across the agar and incubated according to the organism being cultivated, commonly for one to two weeks at approximately 25°C. Growth and colony morphology are then assessed.
