Description
Reinforced Clostridial Agar is a non-selective solid medium for cultivating and enumerating clostridia and other anaerobic bacteria.
Peptones and extracts supply nutrients, glucose supplies energy and cystine creates reducing conditions suitable for anaerobic growth.
Samples and dilutions are pour-plated with an agar overlay and incubated anaerobically at 30–35°C for 24–48 hours. Colonies are counted and reported after applying the dilution factor.
