Description
Pharmacopoeia Water Diluent is a buffered sodium-chloride peptone solution for general microbiological sample dilution.
The isotonic buffered formulation preserves viable microorganisms during homogenisation and serial dilution. Lecithin, polysorbate and histidine may be added where neutralisation of disinfectants is required.
Samples are homogenised or serially diluted in the prepared solution, held for the period stated in the PDF and inoculated onto the appropriate recovery media.
