Description
Clostridium difficile Agar Base is a selective medium base for isolating Clostridioides difficile from faecal specimens.
The completed medium is supplemented with blood and the cycloserine-cefoxitin selective mixture stated in the PDF. These components limit competing organisms while supporting anaerobic recovery of the target.
Specimens are inoculated and incubated anaerobically at 36 ± 1°C for approximately 24–48 hours. Presumptive colonies are evaluated and confirmed using appropriate laboratory procedures.
