Description
Milk Agar is a nutrient medium for detecting and enumerating microorganisms in milk and dairy products.
Peptone and yeast extract supply nitrogen, carbon and vitamins, while skim milk supplies casein. The formulation supports total viable-count procedures in dairy samples.
Decimal dilutions are inoculated by pour-plate or spread-plate technique, incubated at approximately 35°C and counted on plates containing the colony range specified in the PDF.
