Description
Slanetz Bartley Agar Base is a selective base medium for detecting and enumerating intestinal enterococci after addition of TTC supplement.
Sodium azide suppresses competing microorganisms. Added TTC is reduced by enterococci to red formazan, producing red to maroon colonies.
The base is completed with the specified TTC supplement before membrane-filtration or direct-plating use under the ISO 7899-2 procedure.
