Description
Liver Broth is an enriched liquid medium for cultivating a wide range of fastidious microorganisms.
Papaic digest of liver supplies amino acids, nitrogen, minerals and vitamins, while dextrose provides energy and disodium phosphate buffers the medium. The formulation supports Brucella and anaerobic organisms, particularly Clostridium.
Inoculated tubes are incubated at approximately 37°C for 18–48 hours, or up to 72 hours where required. Turbidity is interpreted as microbial growth.
