Description
Selenite Broth is a selective enrichment medium for Salmonella and selected Shigella species.
Sodium selenite inhibits many Gram-positive and Gram-negative competitors, while casein digest and lactose support target-organism enrichment.
The sample is inoculated into freshly prepared broth and incubated at 35 ± 2°C for approximately 18–24 hours before subculture to a selective isolation medium.
