Description
Dextrose Broth is a nutrient liquid medium for cultivating fastidious microorganisms and detecting gas production by enteric bacilli.
Dextrose serves as the fermentable carbohydrate. When gas production is being assessed, the PDF describes use of a Durham tube within the inoculated broth.
Cultures are incubated at 36 ± 1°C for approximately 18–48 hours and examined for growth and gas formation. No numbered formal method reference is specified.
