Description
Herellea Agar is a selective differential medium for isolating Gram-negative bacteria from urethral and vaginal specimens.
Bile salts inhibit much of the accompanying Gram-positive flora. Lactose and maltose fermentation are demonstrated through the bromocresol-purple indicator system.
The prepared medium is inoculated with the specimen, incubated under the conditions in the PDF and interpreted according to colony growth and carbohydrate reaction.
