Description
Rogosa Agar is a selective basal medium for isolating and enumerating lactobacilli.
The low pH and high sodium-acetate concentration suppress much of the accompanying bacterial flora, while the nutrient system supports oral, vaginal and faecal Lactobacillus species.
Samples are spread on the agar and incubated under microaerophilic conditions at the temperature appropriate for the target lactobacilli.
