Description
Rogosa Broth is a selective enrichment medium for cultivating oral, vaginal and faecal lactobacilli.
Low pH and a high sodium-acetate concentration suppress competing bacterial flora while allowing lactobacilli to grow.
The broth is inoculated and incubated at 36 ± 1°C for 40–48 hours, with alternative temperatures specified for thermophilic, psychrotrophic and meat-associated organisms.
