Description
Purple Glucose Agar is a differential medium for confirming Enterobacteriaceae through glucose fermentation.
Glucose is the fermentable carbohydrate and bromocresol purple is the pH indicator. Acid production changes the medium from purple to yellow.
A pure presumptive colony is inoculated into the medium and incubated according to ISO 21528. A yellow reaction supports glucose fermentation.
