Description
Tryptic Bile Agar is a selective medium for isolating and enumerating Escherichia coli and coliform bacteria in water.
Tryptone supplies nutrients and bile salts inhibit Gram-positive organisms, creating selective conditions for the target Gram-negative bacteria.
Water samples are processed by the procedure stated in the technical sheet, inoculated onto the prepared agar and incubated at 36 ± 2°C for approximately 18–24 hours before colonies are counted.
