Description
m-CP Agar Base is a selective membrane-filtration medium for isolating and enumerating Clostridium perfringens in water.
The complete medium uses cycloserine and polymyxin for selectivity, phenolphthalein diphosphate and ferric chloride for phosphatase detection, and indoxyl glucoside for differentiation from other clostridia.
A filtered water membrane is incubated anaerobically at 44 ± 1°C. Characteristic yellow colonies turn pink or red after exposure to ammonium-hydroxide vapour.
