Description
Middlebrook 7H9 Broth Base is a liquid medium for cultivation and antimicrobial-susceptibility testing of mycobacteria.
The mineral and vitamin system supplies essential growth factors and trace ions. ADC supplement is added to provide albumin, glucose, catalase and sodium chloride, with glycerol or polysorbate optionally included as stated in the PDF.
Processed specimens are inoculated into the completed broth and incubated in a carbon-dioxide-enriched atmosphere. Turbidity and subsequent testing are monitored for up to eight weeks.
