Description
Tributyrin Agar Base is a basal medium for detecting and enumerating lipolytic microorganisms.
The medium is supplemented with glyceryl tributyrate. Lipase-producing colonies hydrolyse tributyrin and create clear zones in the otherwise turbid agar.
Samples are spread on the prepared surface and incubated at approximately 28°C for up to 72 hours. Clear zones identify lipolytic growth.
