Description
Bolton Broth is a selective enrichment medium for detecting Campylobacter species in foods and animal feeding stuffs.
The prepared broth is supplemented with lysed horse blood and C.T.V.A. selective supplement. Samples are enriched under microaerobic conditions, initially at 37°C and then at 41.5°C, before being subcultured onto an appropriate selective agar.
The linked technical sheet states that the medium is used according to ISO 10272-1:2006. The broth supports recovery of low numbers of Campylobacter before selective isolation and confirmation.
