Description
Mueller Hinton II Broth is a cation-adjusted liquid medium for broth-dilution antimicrobial-susceptibility testing.
Controlled calcium and magnesium levels and low concentrations of antimicrobial antagonists support reproducible minimum-inhibitory-concentration results.
A standardised inoculum is combined with antimicrobial dilutions in tubes or microplates and incubated at 35 ± 2°C for approximately 16–20 hours. The lowest concentration preventing visible growth is reported as the MIC.
