Description
Tryptose Broth is a general-purpose liquid medium for isolation, cultivation and maintenance of demanding pathogenic bacteria.
Tryptose supplies nitrogen and carbon, glucose provides readily available energy and sodium chloride maintains osmotic balance.
The PDF specifically identifies streptococci, pneumococci, meningococci and Brucella species. Inoculated tubes are incubated at 36 ± 1°C for approximately 24 hours, and turbidity indicates growth.
