Description
Mannitol Motility Test Medium is a semi-solid medium for detecting motility in Enterobacteriaceae.
Motile organisms spread away from the stab line and may grow throughout the tube, while non-motile organisms remain confined to the line of inoculation.
A pure culture is stabbed into the centre of the medium and incubated aerobically at 35 ± 2°C for 24–48 hours before the growth pattern is interpreted.
