Description
Motility Indole Urea Agar is a multi-test semi-solid medium for differentiating Enterobacteriaceae.
The formulation combines motility, indole and urease reactions in a single tube. Diffuse growth away from the stab line indicates motility, indole is demonstrated after adding the specified reagent and urease activity produces the characteristic alkaline indicator reaction.
A pure culture is stab-inoculated and incubated according to the PDF before the three reactions are interpreted together with other identification tests.
