Description

OF Basal Medium is a differential medium for classifying bacteria by oxidative or fermentative carbohydrate metabolism. Paired tubes are inoculated with and without a paraffin seal; yellow colour in both indicates fermentation, while yellow only in the open tube indicates oxidation.
