Neutralizing Fluid E.P. is a diluting and neutralising medium for microbiological examination of non-sterile products.
Histidine neutralises aldehydes and lecithin counteracts quaternary ammonium compounds, reducing preservative carry-over that could inhibit viable microorganisms during testing.
The product sample is dissolved, suspended or diluted in the prepared fluid before being transferred to the appropriate recovery or enumeration medium according to the European Pharmacopoeia procedure.
