Description
Tryptic Soy Yeast Extract Agar is a confirmation medium for Listeria monocytogenes and other Listeria species in the food chain.
Casein and soy digests, yeast extract and glucose provide the nutrients required for Listeria recovery and colony development.
Suspect colonies from selective Listeria agars are streaked for isolation and incubated aerobically at 37°C for 18–24 hours. Typical colourless opaque colonies are subjected to confirmation tests.
