Description
Lactose Sulfite Broth is a confirmation medium for Clostridium perfringens.
Lactose fermentation produces gas, while sulfite reduction produces a black precipitate through reaction with the iron salt.
A presumptive pure culture is inoculated and incubated anaerobically under the conditions stated in the method. Gas formation and blackening support confirmation.
