Description
Lactose Gelatin Medium is a confirmation medium for identifying Clostridium perfringens through lactose and gelatin reactions.
Lactose fermentation produces acid and gas, while gelatinase activity causes liquefaction of the gelatin after the prescribed incubation and cooling procedure.
A pure presumptive culture is inoculated into the medium and examined for the combined reactions. The technical sheet identifies ISO 7937:2004 as the applicable method reference.
