Description
Chromatic Cronobacter Isolation Agar is a selective chromogenic medium for isolating Cronobacter species from food, animal feed and food-production environments.
The alpha-glucosidase chromogenic substrate produces blue to blue-green target colonies, sodium desoxycholate suppresses Gram-positive competitors and the iron/thiosulfate system differentiates hydrogen-sulfide-producing Enterobacteriaceae.
Samples undergo buffered pre-enrichment and selective enrichment before streaking onto the agar. Plates are incubated at approximately 41.5°C for 24 ± 2 hours according to ISO 22964.
