Description
Tryptic Soy Agar with Lecithin is a non-selective environmental-monitoring medium for total colony counts on surfaces, personnel and in air.
Casein and soy peptones support broad microbial growth, while lecithin neutralises quaternary-ammonium disinfectants that could otherwise suppress recovered organisms.
The PDF describes active and passive air monitoring, swab sampling and contact-plate use. Bacterial plates are generally incubated at 30–35°C and fungal plates at 20–25°C before colonies are recorded.
