Description
M17 Broth is a nutrient medium for cultivating lactic streptococci used in dairy products and starter cultures.
Peptones and yeast extract supply growth nutrients, lactose provides a fermentable carbohydrate and disodium glycerophosphate buffers the acid produced by lactic organisms.
The broth is inoculated with the sample or culture and incubated under the conditions specified for the lactic streptococci being examined. Growth is indicated by turbidity.
