Description
Chromatic Coli Coliform is a selective chromogenic medium for detecting and enumerating Escherichia coli and other coliform bacteria in food and water.
The chromogenic system produces green colonies for beta-glucuronidase-positive E. coli and mauve colonies for other coliforms, while the selective mixture suppresses most Gram-positive organisms.
Solid samples are streaked directly and liquid samples may be spread-plated, pour-plated or membrane-filtered. Plates are incubated at the temperature appropriate for total or faecal coliform analysis.
