Description
Chromatic Salmonella is a selective chromogenic medium for detecting and presumptively identifying Salmonella species from clinical and non-clinical materials.
Chromogenic substrates differentiate Salmonella colonies by colour. Tween 20 supports growth and the optional selective supplement inhibits competing Proteus, Pseudomonas and Aeromonas species.
Clinical specimens may be inoculated directly, while food, feed and environmental samples may follow the EN ISO 6579-1 isolation workflow. Presumptive colonies are confirmed by additional tests.
