Description
Chromatic Detection is a non-selective chromogenic medium for enumeration and presumptive differentiation of microorganisms from clinical and non-clinical specimens.
Peptones and yeast extract support broad growth, while the chromogenic mix differentiates organisms by colony colour and morphology. The medium also permits an indole test for confirmation of Escherichia coli.
Samples are inoculated directly and incubated at 35 ± 2°C for approximately 18–24 hours. Characteristic colony colours are used for presumptive differentiation before confirmatory testing.
