Description
Chromatic MRSA is a chromogenic selective medium for isolating methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus from clinical specimens.
The formulation combines selective agents with chromogenic substrates. Presumptive MRSA colonies develop the mauve or orange-mauve appearance described in the PDF, while competing organisms are inhibited or differentiated.
Prepared plates are inoculated and incubated at 35 ± 2°C for approximately 18–24 hours. Characteristic colonies require confirmation by appropriate identification and susceptibility procedures.
