Description
Chromatic StrepB is a chromogenic medium for isolating and presumptively identifying Group B streptococci.
Streptococcus agalactiae produces bright blue-green colonies with a white centre, while Enterococcus faecalis may form mauve colonies. These reactions support differentiation on the completed medium.
Clinical specimens are inoculated and incubated under the conditions stated in the PDF. Characteristic colonies are selected for confirmation using appropriate laboratory identification procedures.
