Description
Mueller Hinton II Agar is a cation-adjusted medium for antimicrobial-susceptibility testing of rapidly growing aerobic bacteria.
The controlled calcium and magnesium content and low antagonist levels support reproducible diffusion of antimicrobial agents and consistent inhibition zones.
A standardised inoculum is spread across the agar, antimicrobial disks or gradient strips are applied and plates are incubated according to CLSI or EUCAST procedures. Zones or MIC endpoints are interpreted against the applicable breakpoints.
