Description
Chromatic ESBL is a chromogenic selective medium for isolating Enterobacteriaceae that produce extended-spectrum beta-lactamases and AmpC enzymes.
The completed medium combines chromogenic substrates with the selective supplement specified in the PDF. Presumptive organism groups are differentiated by colony colour, while susceptible competing organisms are restricted.
Clinical specimens are inoculated and incubated under the conditions stated in the technical sheet. Characteristic colonies require confirmation by appropriate organism-identification and antimicrobial-susceptibility procedures.
