Description
Chromatic GBS is a chromogenic medium for isolating and differentiating Group B streptococci.
Streptococcus agalactiae produces mauve-to-red colonies under the conditions stated in the PDF, while Enterococcus species may form blue-to-purple colonies. The differential colours support presumptive recognition of target growth.
Specimens are inoculated onto prepared plates and incubated according to the technical sheet before characteristic colonies are selected for confirmation. The PDF does not identify a numbered formal method reference.
