Description
Sodium Selenite is a selective ingredient for preparing Salmonella enrichment media.
Selenite suppresses many Gram-positive and Gram-negative competitors, including enterococci and coliform bacteria, while permitting enrichment of salmonellae.
The ingredient is dissolved in distilled water and incorporated into the required enrichment formulation before autoclave sterilisation.
